Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there a breakwater wall?

It is really a “Swimmers’ Safe Haven”. Inside the walled area, power watercrafts are not allowed. This makes it very safe for snorkelers and waders, particularly playful children, to enjoy the waters without any risk from accidents of motorized boats or jet skis.

From an environmental sense, the breakwater protects the sand on the beach – thereby preventing coastal erosion.

Why does the ocean water “disappear” on certain times of the day?

In a nutshell, due to high tide and low tide.

Water level is up when it is high tide; and the water rushes back to the ocean and “disappears” when the tide is low. At times of the year, the difference in water level can reach up to 1.5 meters.

It is actually fun because during low tide, you can explore the exposed ocean floor for shells and play with small crabs.

Why do you have seaweeds? Is your water dirty?

On the contrary, the presence of seaweeds means that there is a healthy ecosystem. And a teeming marine life means more fishes, more plants. It is Nature’s way of telling us that the seawater is naturally clean.

Are there mosquitoes in the Resort?

There are mosquitoes almost everywhere in any tropical island like Cebu. You can almost say that mosquitoes are inherent to one’s exciting adventure in tropical and exotic Philippines. Of course, we control mosquitoes from biting our guests by spraying the surroundings with non-toxic insecticide and supplying guestrooms with mosquito repellant.

Are there ants in the room?

Ants will join you in your room if you invite them with unattended food in your premises. Food supplies are best kept in your in-room refrigerator.

Is there an Internet Desktop Station?

Two desktops by the Lobby are available at minimal cost.

Do you charge for Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is free.

Why is the Internet connection slow at times?

Unfortunately, the Philippines has an average MBPS of 3.6 which is ¼ the speed of many countries and ranks last among our ASEAN neighbors. Connection can be erratic and inconsistent but its performance has been getting better.

Do you have an area where kids can safely spend time playing?

The resort is a kid-friendly environment. Our Guest Service Team runs playtime activities every morning (Kiddie Hour, 10 – 11 am) and afternoon (Child’s Play, 3 – 4 pm).

Are taxis readily available?

Taxis are available on call, and depending on season or queue, may take from 5 – 30 minutes.

Why do taxis add a call fee of P 50.00 (about US $1.25)?

Taxi drivers call this their “on call charge” to cover the gasoline costs of driving out all the way to the Resort. This is quite reasonable considering that P 50.00 buys only about 1 liter of gasoline.

Are there other means of transportation?

Other options include a chauffeur-driven vehicle or our local all-around public transportation called the Jeepney.

For the more adventurous on shorter distances, you can take a motorcycle with a side car called a tricycle.
